Determine Energy needed to heat propane?
I need to determine the amount of energy need to heat a tank of propane from a low temp to a warmer temp.
I can’t quite model the system.
Right now I’m just figuring a constant mass (18 kg of propane) in a tank with a constant volume (0.0433 m^3) at saturation (temps between 30*F – 120*F and 1 atm outside the tank).
I know that the propane is saturated. What I don’t know is if I should just use some specific heat and not wory about the phases or if I should determine the amount of liquid and the amount of gas and then use a specific heat for each one. But I also don’t know how to do this (determine amount of liquid and gas.)
Accuracy is not to important as long as I am within +/-15% of actual energy required.
Any help in getting set in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

If you don’t need precision, the energy stored as pressure
will be negligable.
